Katie A. Nelson has always loved words and stories. She holds a BA in English from Brigham Young University and an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts. Formerly a high school English and Debate teacher, Katie now works as a mentor in the MTSU Write program at Middle Tennessee State University. She loves Broadway shows, emo music, BBC costume dramas, and anything chocolate mint. Originally from California, Katie lives outside of Nashville with her husband, four kids, and two very spoiled dogs.
